DOTM October 2016 – Designer Stitch


Ann Grose is a freelance designer in Australia who has been working in the design and teaching industry for over 30 years. Ann is a super busy pattern designer, pumping out several patterns a month. Her designs are chic, trendy yet classic, beautiful, and are designed to flatter every sized figure.

She has taught adult education at both a TAFE and University level in clothing, textiles and millinery studies, and has been operating her own fashion school for 16 years: The Designer Stitch School of Fashion and Design.

Ann is an active participate in our Sewing Pattern Testers Group and is always willing to lend a helping and teaching hand. Look for Ann’s teaching materials/classes coming soon. Parrish began sewing in April 2016.  (That’s not a typo)  She began sewing for her newborn daughter after taking ONE sewing class.  For Parrish, her daughter brings her inspiration, and her husband supplies his support. Since she has a Type A personality, sewing is a natural fit. Parrish enjoys helping beginning sewists.  So happy to have her in our corner of the sewing world.  What a great inspiration for our beginner group members!

The Benjamin Tyler shirt perfectly blend simplicity and style for a casual shirt that is perfect for showing off fun woven cotton prints with the contrasting back yoke, open placket, and optional pocket.

This shirt is specifically designed to not require button or snap closure on the front placket opening.

Pattern includes measurements for sizes 12-18 months through 10 years and suggested fabrics include light-medium weight woven cotton, poplin, linen, and flannel.
